Orlando Pirates coach Abdeslam Ouaddou has responded to questions regarding whether he can deliver CAF Champions League glory to the club.
The French-Moroccan tactician enjoyed a flawless debut season at the helm of the Sea Robbers, spearheading the club to a historic domestic treble that included the MTN8, Carling Knockout Cup, and the Betway Premiership titles.
Following Mamelodi Sundowns’ continental triumph this past weekend, ambitions for African glory have been reawakened among other PSL heavyweights, particularly the Buccaneers.
Ouaddou states that his side will ensure they prepare thoroughly to compete fiercely on the continent next season.
“Look, I think I’m not a magician, but what we can promise with people, like we did this season, we are going to prepare and sweat for that,” said Ouaddou on SuperSport TV.
“We will try and make them happy.”
He stated that the past season showed they are capable of applying what they work hard on in training during actual matches.
“The players, the management, the technical director knows the work we do every day, the trust that we put in players, our competencies and our qualities,” he added.
“I always believed that the guys would apply [what we do in training] until the last game, last minute and last second.
“And it’s football is not an exact science.”
