Pirates Give Injury Update Ahead Of Jwaneng Clash

Orlando Pirates have confirmed positive news from the treatment room, while Deano Van Rooyen could make his debut when the club face Jwaneng Galaxy on Saturday.

The Buccaneers will meet Morena Ramoreboli’s double winners for the second successive year in the CAF Champions League second preliminary round and will be out for revenge after they were eliminated on penalties last season.

Jose Riveiro and his men will again face Galaxy in Botswana first, before hosting them at Orlando Stadium next week.

Ahead of the game, Pirates confirmed that Thapelo Xoki and Bandile Shanu are close to returning to the squad.

“Jose Riveiro’s options could also soon be boosted by the imminent return to action of the likes of Tapelo Xoki and Bandile Shandu,” the club stated.

In addition, the Sea Robbers also confirmed that “newly signed right-back Deano van Rooyen is finally available for selection”.

The 27-year-old joined the Buccaneers on 12 August but was cup-tied in the MTN8 clashes and not registered for the first preliminary round of the CAFCL, however is now available to make his debut.
