Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies could book a ticket to Ivory Coast for the CAF Women’s Champions League finals in November, if they overcome Double Action Ladies of Botswana in the COSAFA qualifiers final at the Sugar Ray Xulu Stadium this afternoon.
The Hollywoodbets Super League champions are making their third final in a row at the regional finals.
They have won it in the inaugural event in 2021 and went on to be crowned African champions in Egypt that same year, however, they came shot last year when they were beaten by Zambian side Green Buffaloes.
The Chloorkop-based outfit has been impressive in Durban in the last two weeks, going through the group stage with a 100% record, scoring 16 goals without conceding.
They met Green Buffaloes in the semis this time around and eliminated the reigning champions in an entertaining match with a 3-1 score-line.
They meet another familiar foe today, who are making their first appearance in the final. Double Action topped Group A and defeated Mozambique’s Costa Do Sol to qualify for the finals.
