Mamelodi Sundowns defender Asekho Tiwani believes there is enough quality in his side to go further in the CAF Champions League and win it this season.
Sundowns are in their third successive semi-final of Africa’s premium club competition where they have stumbled in the last two campaigns with the Brazilians going into this game at the back of their elimination from the Nedbank Cup by Kaizer Chiefs.
They face nemesis Al Ahly in the first leg of the last four tie at Loftus Versfeld Stadium on Saturday with the teenager saying the depth and fight can help them get over the line this time around.
“I think it’s because we know that we have a lot of quality in the team and a fighting spirit,” said Tiwani.
“So, we just need to be in the right head space then everything will fall into place. I think the only thing people can expect is that we will fight up until the end. And I think the Champions League is open to everyone.
“We just have to use and believe in the game plan the coach would have prepared and also believe in each other then everything will fall into place.”
The match kicks off at 15:00.
