Tso Makes Lorch Claim After Return In Downs Defeat

Former Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder Benedict ‘Tso’ Vilakazi says he was pleased to see the return of Thembinkosi Lorch even though he looked a bit rusty.

Lorch, 31, was a second-half substitute in Sundowns’ 1-0 loss to Raja Club Athletic in Morocco on Saturday evening.

He missed a great chance to level for the South African champions in the game, something Vilakazi believes showed the player’s rustiness.

‘Nyoso’ moved to the capital city from Orlando Pirates in January last season but his progress has been hampered by injuries and he has played just six matches across all competitions this term.

Vilakazi says Lorch along with Tashreeq Mathews need more game-time and will deliver for the Brazilians.

“Like a supporter, a fan I was so happy to see them, especially Lorch after a long time of not seeing him,” said Tso on iDiski TV.

“But I saw him, he’s a bit rusty because a Lorch with that opportunity for me, that was a goal.

“But it’s good to see him back together with [Tashreeq] Matthews. Seeing them playing in the team, I think when they get time again the confidence will be back.

“If Lorch gets time again I think that body will come back, and they’ll deliver.”
