Zuma Backs Sundowns For Champions League Success

Bafana Bafana legend Sibusiso Zuma has backed Mamelodi Sundowns to overcome Esperance in the semi-final of the CAf Champions League.

Sundowns host Taraji, the four-time African champions, needing to oveturn a 1-0 defeat they suffered in Tunis last week.

Rulani Mokwena’s side have now reached back-to-back semi-finals and are aiming to reach the final for the first time since they won their maiden title in 2016.

“I have no doubts man, they will do it, they have enough quality, not just to overturn the 1-0 loss but to go all the way,” Zuma tells iDiski Times.

“That is one team I trust to do this. Rulani… he’s young, he loves the game very much but guys like that will always make good coaches.

“They are willing to learn, so I think for now… I will back him for Sundowns, the kind of football he wants to play, I back him to coach Sundowns, he’s a good fit for the team.”

The two sides meet on Friday at Loftus Versfeld at 20h00.
