Al Masry coach Nabil Kouki has shared his views on Kaizer Chiefs’ penalty in their CAF Confederation Cup match in Polokwane on Sunday saying he will not blame match officials.
Al Masry captain appeared to have handled the ball in his own box to stop a Glody Lilepo shot with the match referee giving the hosts the spot kick advantage which Flavio Silva converted to give Chiefs the lead.
Amakhosi went on to win the penultimate Group D clash 2-1 and moved to the top of the pool with 10 points. Kouki said though not sure if the penalty was valid, he will not point fingers at the referee and accuse him of anything because Chiefs actually had a good game.
“The penalty is like I’m not so convinced about it,” said Kouki after the game.
“I cannot say that the ref has the whole responsibility or was responsible because Kaizer Chiefs had a good game. But the penalty is a big decision to take. I can see from pictures that my player put his hands behind his back but I cannot say the ref took the game out of us.
“I can say Kaizer Chiefs played a good game.”
