Sekhukhune United defender Daniel Cardoso has insisted his side didn’t take the long travel to Mali to leave empty-handed from their CAF Confederations Cup clash.
Babina Noko have picked up four points from their three group-stages matches so far, including a 0-0 draw Stade Malien de Bamako at home.
With Sekhukhune currently sitting in third spot and RS Berkane looking like the run-away leaders after winning all three games so far, Wednesday night’s clash between Bamako and Sekhukhune becomes almost like an early decider for second spot.
However, Cardoso is confident that his side are ready to put up a fight and won’t leave without points.
“They are a very good team. As the coach said we’ve done our homework on them, they haven’t conceded much goals,” he told reporters.
“It’s going to be a tough one [but] we want to go to the next phase of the Confederations Cup.
“It’s going to be a fight, we didn’t come here for nothing – we want to either get a draw or take the three points. We want to go home, knowing that we’ve done enough to fight.
“It’s a long travel and we want to walk away with the three points.”
