Kaizer Chiefs coach Fernando Da Cruz has addressed the pressure surrounding Amakhosi ahead of their CAF Champions League second-leg clash against Red Arrows.

The Soweto giants suffered a narrow 1-0 defeat to the Zambian side at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium on Saturday afternoon, leaving themselves with work to do in the return fixture.

Chiefs will host Red Arrows at Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban on Friday, 23 October, with a place in this season’s group stage up for grabs.

However, Da Cruz insists that pressure is nothing new for him and his technical team, maintaining that it will not be an issue heading into the crucial encounter.

“The pressure is always there, we are under pressure every day, that’s not a problem,” said Da Cruz.

Da Cruz also admitted that Chiefs have lacked efficiency in the attacking third. He stressed the need for his side to apply more offensive pressure, adding that improving in this area could help them overturn the deficit.

“We just have a lack of efficiency; we must put more [pressure] when we attack. We just need to put more work, work on that and it will turn on our side,” he concluded.
