Fadlu Davids’ Simba team picked up a dramatic stoppage time 2-1 win against CS Sfaxien in the CAF Confederation Cup on Sunday.
The former Orlando Pirates and Maritzburg United coach must have been delighted to see his team pick up their second Group A game, with the winning goal coming nine minutes into additional time.
Haj Hassen had given Sfaxien an early lead, but Denis Kibu equalised for it to be 1-1 within the opening ten minutes of the game.
And just when it looked like the points would be shared, it was Kibu who would prove to be the hero when he headed in the winner just before the final whistle at the Benjamin Mkapa National Stadium in Dar-es-Salaam.
The victory moves Simba onto six points in three games, in a tight group battle with CS Constantine and Bravos Do Maquis, where Abednigo Mosiatlhaga plays. All three teams are on six points after the Angolan club also won with a stoppage-time goal on Sunday.
