Fadlu Davids‘ Simba staged a massive comeback against Al-Masry to qualify for the CAF Confederations Cup semi-finals.
Simba had lost the first leg 2-0 in Egypt, with Davids expressing his dissatisfaction with the referees after the match.
However, they came out guns blazing in the second leg and levelled the score after 32 minutes already, with Elie Mpanzu scoring in the 22nd minute and Steven Mukwala 10 minutes later.
The scoreline remained the same until the 90th minute and the tie went into penalties. But Davids’ men remained unfazed in front of their home crowd, converting all four spot-kicks and didn’t even need the fifth after the visitors missing two of their first three.
Simba will now face the winner between Zamalek and Stellenbosch FC in the semi-finals of the competition.
