Kaizer Chiefs assistant coach Cedric Kaze has downplayed the notion that Nasreddine Nabi would feel betrayed as they lead the club in his absence.
Nabi has been suspended by the club, ahead of his expected official parting of ways, early into his second season where he, together with his technical team ended their decade long trophy drought with the Nedbank Cup triumph.

It qualified them for a return to CAF inter-club competitions, with the Confederation Cup, where they come up against Kabuscorp tomorrow at FNB Stadium, needing to overturn a 1-0 defeat from their first leg 1st preliminary round qualifier.
But in the build up to the fixture, Kaze was asked how Nabi – whom he worked together with during their time at Young Africans, feels about the current situation.
“I’ve known coach Nabi for a couple of years, I have worked with him and as each other, we know the situation of the coaching job,” Kaze said.
“Today he is not here – and I’m pretty sure that he will be proud that we will continue where he left off and bring the club where it belongs.
“Coach Khalil and myself are leading the team for tomorrow’s game, there’s no disruption in that and every decision we take, we ensure we’re in a good space for tomorrow’s game.”
The fixture tomorrow kicks off at 15h00 at the Calabash.
