Stellenbosch were drawn up against Zamalek SC in the CAF Confederation Cup quarter-final draw on Thursday afternoon in Doha, Qatar.
Steve Barker’s side have defied the odds in their debut campaign of the competition by reaching the knockout stages in impressive fashion after losing their opening two group stage games against Stade Malien and RS Berkane.
They hit back with back-to-back wins over Lunda Sul and then securing qualification with a win over the West African giants in Tshwane back in Janaury.
While Berkane eased to win the group and trounced them 5-0 in the final group stage fixture, they avoid one of the tournament favourites by virtue of being together in Group B.
The Cape Winelands side will face Egyptian giants and reigning champions Zamalek.
Meanwhile Fadlu Davids’ Simba who ousted Algerian club CS Constantine to win Group A will face Egyptian Premier League side Al Masry.
The first leg fixture is scheduled to take place on 3 April and the return leg, seven days later on 10 April.
