Carling All Stars XI Update

The first Carling All Stars XI has been revealed, including four Kaizer Chiefs players, four Orlando Pirates stars and three from Mamelodi Sundowns.

With the Carling Knockout final around the corner, the voting for the Carling All Star XI, which will take on the winners of the Carling Knockout Cup has officially opened.

Last season, the Carling All Stars beat Carling Knockout winners Stellenbosch FC 2-1 thanks to two early goals by Mfundo Vilakazi and Ashley Du Preez.

The game was sort of the breakout match for Obrigado, while Itumeleng Khune walked away with the Man of the Match award.

But with Khune clubless at the moment, there won’t be a chance to repeat his heroics from last year and Sipho Chaine is currently featuring in goal.

The Bucs shot stopper is joined by three club teammates, namely Jabulani Mokone*, who counts as one of the five DStv Diski Challenge starlets, Thalente Mbatha and Relebohile Mofokeng.

Three more DDC players complete the current back-four, with Chiefs duo Aden McCarthy* and Xolani Mcossa* being voted in alongside Sundowns’ wing-back Asekho Tiwani, who has already broken through into the senior team after his move from TS Galaxy.

In midfield, Mbatha and Mofokeng are joined by Sphelele Mkhulise and Gaston Sirino, while Vincent Mokoena* and Naledi Hlongwane* currently form the attacking duo.

Fans can still vote for their favourite players and coach, with the Carling Black Label Cup set to take place on 21 December.
