The Premier Soccer League has confirmed that the Toyota Free State Stadium in Bloemfontein will host the 2024/25 edition of the Carling Knockout Cup final on Saturday, 23 November.
This will be another treat for the football loving fans and businesspeople of the Free State after the province recently hosted Kaizer Chiefs’ sold-out affair against Marumo Gallants as well as Bafana Bafana’s 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Zimbabwe with the stadium packed-to-rafters on both occasions.
Mamelodi Sundowns, Richards Bay, Gallants and Magesi FC have all booked their spots in the semifinals.
Masandawana made light of Chiefs on Saturday with a 4-0 thrashing while the Natal Rich Boyz beat Cape Town City 5-4 on penalties after the match ended 0-0 in regulation and extra-time. Bahlabane Ba Ntwa pulled off an upset by knocking out defending champions Stellenbosch FC narrowly beating them 1-0. Dikwena Tse Meetse continued their giant slaying tag by eliminating last season’s beating finalists TS Galaxy 1-0.
