The 2023 Carling Knockout Cup semi-finals have been confirmed after the draw took place on Wednesday evening.
In an incredible twist, the last four will not contain the traditional big three of Orlando Pirates, Mamelodi Sundowns and Kaizer Chiefs, who have all been knocked out.
Amakhosi and Sundowns were dumped out in the first round to AmaZulu and TS Galaxy, respectively – both of whom progressed from the quarter-finals, too.
While the “Cup Kings”, Pirates, were eliminated this weekend by unfancied Richards Bay on penalties.
The Natal Richboyz, led by Kaitano Tembo may be floundering in the DStv Premiership with a relegation scrap on their hands, but they join the final four with Stellenbosch, who are now tipped as favourites – which would represent their first-ever domestic title.
