Gallants & Sundowns XI Announced

Marumo Gallants and Mamelodi Sundowns have announced their starting XIs for today’s Carling Knockout clash at Dr Rantlai Petrus Stadium.

The last spot is up for grabs for the Carling Knockout Cup final after Magesi FC caused an upset yesterday, beating Richards Bay by 1-0.

Gallants aim to continue with the upsets this afternoon, as this competition has proved once again that there are no small teams in the field of play.

Bahlabane Ba Ntwaa come to this game with their tails up after eliminating defending champions Stellenbosch FC last weekend.

Their journey in the Carling Knockout Cup saw them eliminating Polokwane City in a five-goal thriller before beating Stellenbosch by 1-0.

Meanwhile, Sundowns aim to continue with their dominance over Gallants and book a place in the final. The last time Downs reached the semi-final of this competition they won it and that was in 2016.

Sundowns are yet to concede in this competition after eliminating Lamontville Golden Arrows by 5-0 in the Last 16 before knocking Kaizer Chiefs out by 4-0 in the quarter-final.

Head-to-head, these teams faced each other 10 times, Sundowns won seven times, Gallants won once on penalties and two matches ended with draws.
