Kaizer Chiefs beat Cape Town City at a packed Malta Park, while Orlando Pirates dropped points against Richards Bay in the DStv Diski Challenge this weekend.
Lukewarm Pirates were held by Richards Bay to a 1-1 draw. The Buccaneers dropped to seventh place after being too inconsistent this season. Bay were leading most of the game before the Bucs scored very late to make it 1-1.
Meanwhile, Bernard Parker’s TS Galaxy recorded their fourth straight win after beating Magesi FC 3-0. The young Rockets find themselves amongst the title chasers and are now just five points behind table toppers Stellenbosch FC
Chiefs ended City’s 552-day unbeaten run at home with a hammering at a packed Malta Park. Amakhosi went into the break with a 3-0 lead after teenage sensation Neo Bohloko scored a brace.
Stellenbosch continued their good run at home after beating Polokwane City. Cheswyn Philander scored the only goal for the Winelands side, which was enough to secure the maximum points.
Sundowns cruised nicely against Chippa United. They went into the half-time break with a comfortable 2-0 lead after Bennet Mokoena and Ntando Nkosi scored. Thulani Zandamela scored the third goal in the second half to seal all three points for Sundowns.
