Junior Khanye has predicted that Mamelodi Sundowns will win the Carling knockout Cup by a margin of at least five goals against Magesi FC.
Sundowns are the highest-scoring side in the tournament this season with 11 goals and did not concede on their way to the final.
Having been knocked out of the MTN8, Khanye believes the league champions will want to lift the second domestic cup against a stubborn Magesi in their first top-flight season.
The former Kaizer Chiefs winger has applauded the Limpopo side for making it to the final while eliminating Cup favourites on their way.
However, he emphasised that Sundowns are taking the final in Bloemfontein very seriously and have the players to deliver his predicted score.
“I’m not going to beat around the bush but Papi [Zothwane] and co are going to get a hiding,” Khanye said on iDiski TV.
“What I have realised is that they [Sundowns] are very serious and I think even Manqoba [Mngqithi] made the same comments about their mind-set.
“And Manqoba can even surprise people at the Champions League this year because they are very direct, they are scoring goals. He is playing with three strikers and [Lucas] Ribeiro who is more or less a striker.
“They are very dangerous those players I’m talking about Ribeiro, [Peter] Shalulile and [Iqraam] Rayners they can score goals. Sundowns will win the game 5-0, 4-0 and I know Ribeiro will score a hat-trick or a brace. Shalulile is also going to score.”
