Iqraam Rayners explained the differences he’s experienced at SuperSport United and Stellenbosch after his scintillating goalscoring run.
Rayners has been phenomenal since making his return to the club.
The former Matsatsantsa forward has scored 20 goals in just 31 games since making his return to the Cape Winelands side in January.
The 27-year-old mentioned that at Supersport United he never got an opportunity to show his ability as he featured primarily as a winger and impact substitute.
“Nothing changed – there [at] Supersport United I did not get much opportunity and I’m happy to be back here because myself and Coach Steve, we always communicated and I’m happy to be back in I’m happy to score goals,” Rayners told iDiski Times.
Rayners has won two back-to-back Carling Knockout Challenge man of the match awards which paid R100 000 each, voted by the football supporters. He takes that as a motivation to other players as well.
“No, don’t add motivation, actually adds motivation to the team because I want them to do good.
“You never know someone else might get it also so not about me alone. It’s about the team.”
