Stellenbosch FC striker Iqraam Rayners says he is going to share some of his massive R200,000 winnings from the Carling Knockout Cup with his teammates.
Rayners won his second Man of the Match award after his side eliminated Polokwane City in the Knockout Cup, racking up R200,000 in two cup ties.
The striker, who scored the opener in the 2-0 victory over City, says he is going to have a braai for his teammates from his winnings as a way of sharing the moneys with them.
The 27-year-old says the braai is another way of showing how united the side is and how well everyone gets along.
“I’m feeling good obviously, I’m going to give the guys something off the two Man of the Matches,” Rayners said after the win in Polokwane.
“I’m going to give them a nice braai after our last game against Chippa United. Yeah we’ll just relax and enjoy the moment.
“No I don’t know how does it work, who votes for me, I just play and fight for the team and get the results.
“That’s what I want to do and help the team going forward and get into the semi-finals. That’s what I like to do, help the team and get results and score goals and help them to go to the final.
“And yes I’m happy to be in the semi-final so we need to push now to get to the final.”
