Carling All Stars coach Jose Riveiro has lauded the performances of Samkelo Zwane, Gomolemo Kekana and Bathusi Aubaas.
The midfield trio dominated Magesi as they secured a 3-0 win at Orlando Stadium on Saturday afternoon, in a game that marked Clinton Larsen’s final game for the club.
Zwane dominated the midfield as a 10 in the opening half with Aubaas and Kekana playing as a double pivot behind him.
“I think Zwane, Kekana, Aubaas in the first half, the three of them, they gave us a different level in the middle of the park, I think it was a space where the game was dictated,” he said.
“They made the difference to finally find these boys, Rele, Ashley in the first half in really good positions, also in the second half, paired with Kekana, Zwane did a good job to give us more control of the second half, not making mistakes in possession.
“He was really generous to help our centre-backs in the closing stages of the game and in the second half when Magesi started to accumulate more players in the second line, so I think the centre of the team today was crucial to dominate the second half with possession and to give us speed in circulation in the first 45 minutes.”
