Badela Bids Farewell To Downs, Wydad Move Looming

Former Mamelodi Sundowns DStv Diski Challenge coach Sinethemba Badela has bid farewell to the Yellow Nation and is expected to join Rulani Mokwena’s technical team at Wydad Athletic Club.

Badela, 34, joined Sundowns at the beginning of last season after he had a good campaign with All Stars FC, leading them to a top-four finish in the Motsepe Foundation Championship in 2022/23, in what was their first campaign after relocating to Gauteng before the status was sold to Black Leopards.

He then took charge of the Sundowns’ DDC team and led them to a marvellous title chase, but they ultimately lost out to Stellenbosch FC on the final day of the season.

The up-and-coming technocrat spent just one season at Sundowns and it is expected that he will join former Masandawana head coach Rulani Mokwena’s technical team at Wydad AC.

He’s now bid farewell to the Yellow Nation, as previously reported by iDiski Times.

“Thank you for an incredible year filled with memories that I will cherish forever. Looking forward to the next chapter in my journey,” he wrote on social media.

Badela had already missed Friday’s CAF B Licence graduation ceremony because he had “private business in Morocco”, according to SAFA TD Walter Steenbok.
