Orlando Pirates’ DStv Diski Challenge champions have ended their tour of Holland with two wins on Saturday.
The Buccaneers had started their tour with a heavy 5-0 defeat to the U21 team of Dutch side SBV Vitesse before holding De Graafschap to a 1-1 draw.
On Saturday, they played a double header against Japanese side Yamanashi Gakuin and Dutch team Sparta Rotterdam, with each game lasting 50 minutes.
The Young Buccaneers opened the scoring against Gakuin after 13 minutes when Joy Manqana set up Mpho Padime, who made no mistake.
Pirates made it 2-0 in the 35th minute in the second half, when Aphelele Nzimande and Siku Kubayi combined well on the wing to set up Will Henson.
In the second match, Pirates got off to a strong start, taking the lead less than two minutes into the game thanks to Manana.
The Buccaneers made it 2-0 after just 13 minutes via Henson and were 3-0 up just two minutes later thanks Padime.
The hosts pulled one back in the 31st minute in the second half via a direct free-kick, while Samukelo Zikalala received a red card late in the game for unsportsmanlike conduct.
However, it couldn’t taint a successful final day of their DDC champions tour, as Roscoe Krieling’s side secured two wins.
