DDC Title Race Is Heating Up

Match week 19 gives Stellenbosch FC a chance to go top of the table when they face Polokwane City, but Orlando Pirates could also extend their lead on top if they beat Royal AM and if Mamelodi Sundowns drop points against AmaZulu FC.

Bottom-placed Rise and Shine will welcome the title contenders from the Cape Winelands in a battle of three points.

City will look to register just their second win of the season, while Stellies will look to bounce back from their 1-0 defeat against defending champions SuperSport United last weekend.

Table toppers Pirates have a huge chance to move to 41 points when they face lukewarm Thwihli Thwahla, who have won just one game in their last four matches and Bucs will aim to do the double over Royal after beating them 1-0 in November.

After ending their 10-match winless run last weekend, Usuthu will face Sundowns midday Sunday with hope of registering their fourth victory of the season. Downs have to win this match and hope Pirates don’t win against Royal AM, if they want to go top of the table.

Title dark horses Kaizer Chiefs have high hopes that Neo Bohloko will continue with his goal-scoring run when they face Richards Bay, who themselves have a goalscoring machine in Ntlonelo Bomelo.
