Orlando Pirates reserve and Kaizer Chiefs have announced their starting lineups for the DStv Diski Challenge Soweto Derby clash at Dr Petrus Molema Stadium.
The final day of the DDC festival in Bloemfontein will see the Soweto derby taking centre stage. Both are currently in good form, with home side Pirates in a six-match winning streak, while, Chiefs are on a four-match winning streak.
Chiefs are top of the table, with 49 points after 20 games, while the Buccaneers find themselves in fourth place with 43 points after 22 games. Anything less than a win this afternoon won’t be enough for the black-and-white side, but unlike Chiefs, they have not been too heavily affected by national callups.
Amakhosi on the other hand find themselves in a quandary as they play this derby without 10 regular players who are in camp with the U17 and U20 sides, including their two marksmen Naledi Hlongwane and Neo Bohloko.
In the last five meeting, Chiefs have won two matches, Pirates won one and two ended with draws.
