Official: Europe Giants Confirm Pirates Clash

Orlando Pirates will once again travel to Spain for their pre-season ahead of the 2024/25 campaign, with European giants Sevilla confirming they will face the Buccaneers in a friendly match.

The Sea Robbers were already in Spain during their pre-season ahead of the 2022/23 campaign, facing the likes of Maccabi Tel Aviv, Independiente del Valle and Las Palmas.

Jose Riveiro’s side came back with a 1-0 win over Maccabi, a 3-1 victory over Independiente and a 0-0 with Las Palmas, with some of their players impressing in Europe.

Due to the connections of head coach Riveiro, Pirates are now again heading to Spain for pre-season, with seven-time Europa League champions confirming they will host the Soweto giants on 15 July.

“First up is the South African side Orlando Pirates, who will visit the Jesús Navas Stadium for a behind closed doors fixture on Wednesday 15 July,” the club stated on their website, while confirming some of their pre-season fixtures.
