Truter Elated After Vilakazi Goal

Sekhukhune United head coach Brandon Truter is happy for striker Sibusiso Vilakazi after he netted his first goal for the club.

The goal was Vila’s first in two years and it pushed Babina Noko into sixth spot on the DStv Premiership log with 32 points, while condemning Maritzburg United to the bottom of the log with just five matches left to go.

Truter admits it was an important goal and hopes for more from the former Mamelodi Sundowns man in the remaining fixtures of the season.

“It’s been a while since we have seen Vilakazi celebrate a goal but like I said I am happy for him and the boys are happy for him as well. We could see the reaction from all his teammates and the bench as well,” he said.

“For us it means the three points and I’m sure for him and his family as well, his daughter as well, his teammates it means a lot. So well done, I hope there is more to come in the next five [games]. He is off the mark, he has to build on it.

“Mabasa is also chasing very hard. He has been very good in training and that’s why it would be a front three to reckon with, with Letsoalo, Mabasa and Vilakazi.

“But we have to work around that and see what we can get from the midfield as well to accommodate that type of front three. I’m happy for Vila I’m happy for everyone, in fact it was a massive shift.”
