Manchester United suffered back-to-back defeats after a heavy 3-0 rout by Liverpool in the English Premier League at Old Trafford on Sunday evening.
Trent Alexander-Arnold had fired Liverpool ahead in the sixth minute, but VAR chalked off the goal.
In the 35th minute, Luis Diaz opened the scoring for Liverpool in the derby after meeting Mohamed Salah’s cross at the far post to head past Andre Onana.
The Colombian winger doubled Liverpool’s lead in the 42nd minute with a low drive past Onana after again being teed up by Salah.
Joshua Zirkzee pulled out a huge save from Alison Becker in the 52nd minute.
It was 3-0 for the visitors in the 55th minute as an unmarked Salah tapped home at the far post.
Salah then fired over and had Onana pull off a fingertip save for a corner in the 57th and 58th minutes.
Zirkzee’s powering header in the 63rd minute was denied by Becker.
Lisando Martinez attempted an acrobatic kick in the 72nd minute but his effort was off target.
Zirkzee had a chance to get a consolation goal in the 76th minute but fluffed his shot as it sailed past the face of goal.
Arne Slot’s charges recorded a third straight victory, while United succumbed to their second successive defeat in three matches.
