English Premier League giants Manchester United have announced the signing of Netherlands international defender Matthijs de Ligt from Bayern Munich.
De Ligt, who turned 25 on Monday, reunites with manager Eric Ten Hag with the pair having worked together at Dutch Eredivisie side Ajax Amsterdam.
The Red Devils announced De Ligt as the club’s newest signing on a five-year deal for a transfer fee of €45 million, including add-ons of €5 million.

The former Dutch captain has amassed close to 400 senior career appearances with 44 goal contributions since coming through the Ajax youth ranks.
United also announced the signing of full-back Noussair Mazraoui from Bayern Munich. The Moroccan international joined on a four-year deal for €15 million plus €5 million in add-ons.
