English Premier League side Leeds United have announced legendary defender Lucas Radebe as official club ambassador.
The Kaizer Chiefs and Bafana Bafana legend is a highly respected figure at Elland Road having spent over a decade there where he was the club’s player of the year in 1998 and going on to be the Whites captain.

The club said in a statement that the Chief as he is affectionately known is a focal point for award-winning educational schemes and anti-racism campaigns.
“Leeds United are delighted to announce Lucas Radebe as an official club ambassador.
“Lucas is a focal point for award-winning educational schemes and anti-racism campaigns, and his dedication to supporting the Leeds community on numerous important topics has been astounding, demonstrated through the many awards he has received.
“It is an honour to welcome Lucas back to the club, with the official announcement made at half-time of the club’s Premier League fixture with AFC Bournemouth, where he was introduced to the pitch and we look forward to the future,” the statement said.
During his time at Elland Road, Radebe helped the Whites secure qualification for the Champions League in 1999/2000 season and the semi-final of the tournament in the 2000/01 season.
Radebe has featured over 200 times for Leeds and scored three goals in that period.
