During his ill-fated second spell back at Manchester United, Cristiano Ronaldo reportedly had a rather strained relationship with Harry Maguire, according to The Telegraph.
The 39-year-old completed an emotional return to Old Trafford in 2021, 12 years after leaving the club to join Spanish giants Real Madrid in a then-record fee of £80 million.

Claims from the outlet are that, Ronaldo was not impressed with Maguire, who was skipper at the time, and would often roll his eyes whenever the towering defender delivered team talks.
“Now no one is rolling their eyes in that dressing room when he speaks as Ronaldo ‘was known to do’,” the outlet quoted a source as saying.
Ronaldo’s frustrations spilled over with his former teammate when results were not forthcoming, which eventually saw his second spell end under a cloud just 12 months later.
The England international was then stripped off his armband by Erik ten Hag and handed to Bruno Fernandes the following season.

Despite being criticized in the past for his below-par performances after United forked out £80 million to snap him up from Leicester City, Maguire has of late managed to gain the trust of new boss Ruben Amorim and was even rewarded with the triggering of a one-year contract extension.
