Manchester United legend Ruud Van Nistelrooy was appointed as head coach of Leicester City after his short stint as interim coach at Old Trafford.
Van Nistelrooy had replaced Erik Ten Hag at United as interim coach before new head coach Ruben Amorim took over.
United then somewhat surprisingly split with their former striker, who had also worked as first-team coach under Ten Hag, with Leicester now snapping up the 48-year-old.
Van Nistelrooy will be in stands for Leicester’s game against Brentford, and start his reign officially on Sunday.
“I’m proud, I’m excited. Everybody that I speak to about Leicester City Football Club is enthusiastic,” the Dutchman said.

“They have great stories about the quality of the people working at the Club, the supporters and, of course, the recent history of the Club is impressive.
“I’m excited to start and to get to know everyone and give everything I can for the Football Club.”
Before his stint at United, Van Nistelrooy coached Dutch giants PSV, winning one KNVB Cup and one Johan Cruyff Shield.
