Rulani’s Wydad Move Into Second

Rulani Mokwena’s Wydad Athletic Club moved into second place after beating OC Safi 1-0 on Friday evening.

Wydad got off to the perfect start and opened the scoring inside just three minutes after fine interplay on the left flank to set up Oussama Zemraoui who slotted home.

The home side thought they had made it two, when Cassius Mailula pounced on a lose ball but the goal was ruled out due to offside by VAR.

Wydad, though, dominated large parts of the game without adding to the scoreline to select their fifth win in the Botola Pro.

They also moved to 19 points on the log, which has put them in second place, seven points behind leaders RS Berkane, who have a game in hand.
