Amajimbos Remain Unbeaten At U17 AFCON

Amajimbos maintained their unbeaten start to the U17 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco with a goalless draw against Cameroon this afternoon.

After starting Group B with a thrilling 4-3 win over Egypt, they took on two-time U17 AFCON champions Cameroon in a contrasting battle, with Cameroon dominating the game, but unable to break down the impressive Lwandiso Radebe.

The SuperSport United stopper made nine saves in the game to keep Amajimbos in the game, while they only mustered three shots at goal, with none of them on target.

Vela Khumalo’s side were under seige for most of the encounter at the Stade Larbi Zaouli and while they had the odd break on the counter, the likes of Neo Bohloko and Emile Witbooi were unable to produce that magic from their opener this past weekend.

However, it proved a favourable result for their chances of progressing from the group with the Indomitable Cubs now on one point from two games, while Khumalo’s troops move to four points ahead of Burkina Faso and Egypt’s clash at 19h00 this evening.
