Cape Town Spurs forward Luke Baartman is in high demand after the relegation of the club from the Motsepe Foundation Championship.
The 18-year-old forward is widely considered as one of the brightest prospects in South African football and has naturally attracted interest in his services, with the player’s contract set to be reduced to amateur status from 1 July.

This will undoubtedly see the some of their brightest talents like Asanele Velebayi, Liam Bern and Baartman fielding interest in the upcoming weeks.
iDiski Times has it on good authority that up to eight top-flight clubs are in the race for his services, but the player is biding his time, with the right move critical for this stage of his career as he looks to get first team football ahead of the U20 FIFA World Cup in September.
He was named in the preliminary U20 Africa Cup of Nations squad but was unable to form part of Raymond Mdaka’s African champions due to rehabilitation of an injury, but the player is held in high regard within the technical team due to his goal-scoring prowess.
Baartman has scored five goals with two assists in 21 games (with seven starts) and was one of the leading lights for Spurs in the solitary season in the DStv Diski Challenge, scoring six goals in his first five matches before earning a promotion to the first team.
