Chiefs Duo Suspended For Gallants Tie, Back For Soweto Derby

Kaizer Chiefs duo Gaston Sirino and Pule Mmodi will miss the club’s upcoming Betway Premiership clash against Marumo Gallants on Saturday due to suspension.

The pair accumulated their fourth bookings of the season in their 0-0 stalemate against Chippa United and will now sit out the clash against Bahlabane Ba Ntwa at FNB Stadium.

Even though they will be sitting out this tie, a plus for head coach Nasreddine Nabi is that the two attackers will be available again for selection when they take on arch-rivals Orlando Pirates in the Soweto Derby on May 3.

Sirino has so far registered five assists and a single goal in 16 league appearances this campaign while Mmodi has just a single assist with no league goals in 17 outings.

The attacking duo will surely be missed by the Tunisian tactician but will be happy to have them back as Amakhosi take on the Buccaneers in their first of two meetings in the month of May.

Chiefs will be looking to make it a double over the Bloemfontein-based side after coming from a goal down to narrowly win 2-1 in the first match of the season.

Gallants on the other hand will have captain Edgar Manaka unavailable for this clash against Chiefs.

Proceedings at the Calabash will get underway at 15:00.
