Chiefs Edge Closer To First DDC Title

Kaizer Chiefs beat SuperSport United to get closer to their first DStv Diski Challenge league title, while Orlando Pirates title hopes were thrown out of the window by AmaZulu FC after a 2-1 defeat.

Chiefs extended their winning streak to six matches after beating SuperSport United. Amakhosi scored two goals in the first half and netted two more in the second half to clinch the three points. Dillon Shepard was in charge of the Chiefs, as Vela Khumalo was is of the country with the South Africa U17. The Young Amakhosi are now four points ahead of Stellenbosch FC, with both having played 22 games.

Mamelodi Sundowns returned to winning ways, hammering Marumo Gallants 7-1 away from home. Thulani Zandamela made the headlines after scoring a hat-trick, while Kutlwano Letlhaku is also on the scoresheet. Despite the win, Sundowns chances of winning the league are slim and it is no longer in their hands.

Pirates suffered a huge blow in the title race after losing to AmaZulu FC by 2-1. The Buccaneers scored first in the second half, with Siphamandla Msezane scoring the goal to take his goal tally to 15 goals this season. Usuthu scored two goals to make it 2-1 and sealed a big win away from home.
