Kaizer Chiefs have made their ‘major’ announcement promised during their media day at the Village on Thursday morning, confirming the extension of their partnership agreement with MedShield.
With confidence high after four straight wins and three new signings already secured for the 2023/24 season, a new kit sponsor incoming after ending ties with Nike, and Women’s Football team plans in motion, questions were rife surrounding the hint this week.
However, Amakhosi broke the news on Thursday, with iDiski Times present that they have established a new deal with MedShield.
Amakhosi had already teamed up with MedShield in 2017 when Medshield catered for the Club’s medical aid needs.
Players, technical team and staff were the beneficiaries of the arrangement, saving the Club and the individuals substantial costs which the Club will reinvest in the running of the business.

“We’re very proud to have partners who are committed to the Chiefs brand and MedShield is one of them,” Kaizer Chiefs’ Marketing and Commercial Director Jessica Motaung said during the announcement on Thursday.
“They committed to the health and wellness of our players, the health and wellness of our staff as well as the health of our supporters.
“We’re very excited to see this relationship flourish. It started out in 2017, we’ve seen it flourish as these pictures here show, even through the pandemic when a lot of our supporters had health issues.
“And most importantly MedShield provide affordable health cover for our supporters, for our staff, for our players.
“I just wanted to say thank you to MedShield for having the confidence in Chiefs, for believing in the Chiefs brand, believing in the Chiefs family.
“I encourage our supporters, our corporate partners to take this partnership with them as well. We look forward to really taking this relationship to the next level.”
