Cape Town City are closing in on concluding a deal with Dutch coach Jan Vreman.
City’s hunt for a new coach continues after Andries Ulderink made a U-turn on joining the club and is rumoured to be joining German giants Bayer Leverkusen. Ulderink had already travelled to South Africa and had a few training sessions with City, preparing them for the PSL promotional playoffs.
Latest information received by this publication is that City are in talks with Vreman for the head coach role.
The 59-year-old had been at De Graafschap Doetinchem FC in the Netherlands for over 40 years, having arrived in early 1980s as player, before taking charge in different coaching roles from youth coach, caretaker manager to head coach before leaving in January 2025.
Should City reach an agreement with the Dutch man, he will take charge of the head coach role at the beginning of 2025/26 season.
City are still involved in the PSL Promotion Playoffs and have a crucial away game coming up against Orbit College FC, which could determine their fate in the Premier Division.
