Cape Town City midfielder Luphumlo Sifumba is currently training with Virslīga outfit FC Riga.
The 19-year-old who has long been touted to make a move abroad spent a couple of days in Armenia with FC Van but has since moved on to the Latvian Premier League side.
They finished runners-up in the top-flight last season and were in the qualifiers for the UEFA Conference League but fell out at the second round.
Riga have previously come close to signing a player from City in the form of Brice Ambina, who has since joined Vålerenga in a deal worth around R10-million.
It remains to be seen whether Sifumba is snapped up by the club which is viewed as an ideal environment to kickstart his career abroad.
However, there’s also been recent interest from Liga Portugal 2 side FC Vizela in recent weeks.
Riga currently have seven African players on their books and is the former club of Burkina Faso legend Aristide Bancé.
