Kaizer Chiefs‘ DStv Diski Challenge head coach Vela Khumalo would love to see Stellenbosch FC win all their matches so that the title race goes down to the wire.
Chiefs have a chance to win their first DDC title since its inception back in 2015. Amakhosi find themselves sitting at the top of the table with 51 points with seven games remaining, while other teams have six and five games remaining with the exception of suspended Royal AM.
Amakhosi have already beaten rivals Orlando Pirates 1-0 and now have two big fixtures against SuperSport United and Stellies, before facing TS Galaxy, Richards Bay, Magesi FC, AmaZulu FC and the game in hand against Chippa United.
Khumalo explained that should they win all their games and Stellenbosch win theirs, they will be champions so it is all in their hands to lose it now.
“Look at the gap between us and SuperSport United it is nine points, SuperSport I don’t think they are in the equation, maybe Stellenbosch they are in the equation,” he told the media.

“So, what we are saying is we do not want to calculate, we want Stellenbosch to win their games, we win our games at the end of the season if Stellenbosch win all their games, and we win all our remaining games we will be having a four points difference so that’s what we want to see.
“We do not want to see Stellenbosch lose, we want to win our games and then let them deal with their games but importantly without being naive or arrogant we still need to play Stellenbosch, we still need to play SuperSport United these are the tough, tough teams that we need to play.
“Let’s see how it goes, but the challenge is that the two games that are coming I will not be around. I’m leaving for Morocco.”
