Kaizer Chiefs and Bafana Bafana legend Doctor Khumalo says Mohau Nkota‘s move to Saudi Arabia is a huge opportunity for the 20-year-old.
Nkota experienced a massive breakout season at Orlando Pirates last term, making 39 appearances during which he seven goals and set up five more.
Especially his performances in the CAF Champions League impressed, with Nkota netting four goals and assisting two more in Pirates’ run to the semi-final.
Khumalo believes Nkota has been presented with a huge opportunity to play in a league alongside stars such as Cristiano Ronaldo, Karim Benzema and N’Golo Kante, and the 20-year-old will definitely improve at Al-Ettifaq.
“Congratulations, I wish him all the best of luck,” he said on the 10Bet podcast.
“I think it’s a huge, not achievement but an opportunity.
“And for him to be given an opportunity to go there, he will come back ripe [improved].”
Nkota’s fine performances also caught the eye of Bafana Bafana coach Hugo Broos, and he made his debut in a goalless draw with Tanzania before setting up both goals in a 2-0 win over Mozambique.
