Downs European Opponents Confirmed

Mamelodi Sundowns will also head to Europe for a pre-season camp, and although details are scarce at this moment, they will face Dutch side NAC Breda.

Breda finished sixth in the Eerste Divisie in 2022/23 and missed out on promotion via the play-offs, after failing to beat Emmen.

As they prepare for the 2023/24 season, they will meet Sundowns on 28 July, the club confirmed.

“NAC will also go on a training camp. This year the training camp will take place in Delden in Overijssel. During this training camp, NAC will play two exhibition games,” they stated.

“On Tuesday 25 July, NAC will take on OFI Crete. On Friday 28 July, the champion of South Africa, Mamelodi Sundowns FC, is the opponent.

“These duels will most likely be played behind closed doors. If this changes, we will of course report this.”

Sundowns are yet to confirm details of their pre-season camp in Europe, which is understood to take place by the end of July.

Masandawana are not the only DStv Premiership team heading to Europe, with Orlando Pirates also leaving the Mzansi-winter weather for the summer abroad.

Pirates’ camp will take place between 9 and 20 July in Spain.
