Here is the updated DStv Premiership log after Mamelodi Sundowns got thumped at home and Kaizer Chiefs as well as Baroka picked up important wins in today’s games.
Mamelodi Sundowns dropped points at home after losing 3-0 against Stellenbosch, meaning they can’t do better than their previous record-tally of 67 points anymore.
However, Masandawana remain ahead of Cape Town City, who drew 0-0 with AmaZulu. The point sees City climb to 49 points on the log, three ahead of Royal AM and Kaizer Chiefs.
While Thwili Thwala dropped two points in their 2-2 draw with Golden Arrows, Chiefs secured an important win at Sekhukhune United. Stellenbosch, meanwhile, climbed into fifth after beating the reigning champions.
Further down the table, Baroka secured an important 3-1 win against SuperSport United, which saw them draw level with Swallows in 15th spot.
Chippa United have secured their DStv Premiership survival after a goalless draw with Swallows, meaning neither the Dube Birds nor Baroka can still reach Chippa’s 28 points.
