Ertugral – Which Transfers Chiefs Should Target

Former Kaizer Chiefs coach Muhsin Ertugral believes Nasreddine Nabi still needs a “good six” and another striker to improve the team.

Amakhosi lost 4-0 to Mamelodi Sundowns on Saturday, ending their hopes of silverware in the Carling Knockout.

The result also means, Chiefs have collected one draw and three defeats in their last four games after an initial positive start under Nabi.

The Tunisian mentor himself has continuously stated that he still needs to add more quality players to his squad, with Ertugral agreeing and insisting Chiefs should strengthen in two key positions.

“It’s always very difficult from the outside to say. What I think they need is definitely a good six,” he told iDiski Times exclusively.

“A six who can push the team a little bit more forward in the second zone, when you have somebody that’s sitting back in front of the defensive line, you can also go with the wingers a little bit more higher up. That means that you have always three behind the ball.

“Sometimes I see he wants to have four or five behind the ball, so that brings you a little bit more forward, 15 metres forward to put more pressure on the opponents. So I think he will play with these concepts.

“For me, definitely a six that will help the team, a steady six. But there’s no one in the country at the moment that you can get easily.

“And then I think they need another striker definitely. Now I can see they’re functioning upfront, because his patterns are very good, and they’re functioning at the moment, but I think they will go for another striker in the future.

“Having a smaller squad and getting quality players in that will help them for the future, I’m sure.”
