Ex-Ahly Forward Open To PSL Switch

Former Al Ahly striker Walter Bwalya is open to making a move to the DStv Premiership.

The 28-year-old is currently unattached after terminating his contract with the Red Devils before the start of the 2023/24 season.

He was closing in on a move to Wydad Atheltic Club as the replacement for Junior Sambou, but like former Kaizer Chiefs striker Bonfils Caleb Bimenyimana, the deal was called off.

This was due to Sambou’s proposed move to the Gulf being called off at the last minute and with Bwalya available, links with the PSL have emerged.

The likes of Mamelodi Sundowns and Kaizer Chiefs were said to have been offered his services last season before his move to the Saudi Yelo League.

When contacted by iDiski Times about the potential to feature in South Africa he stated most talks are ‘rumours’ and that ‘nothing has been confirmed’ about his next move – but the door remains open for the DStv Premiership.

The DR Congo international rose to prominence on the continent when he scored 16 goals for Egyptian Premier League side El Gouna in 35 games between 2019 and 2020.
