Fadlu Reacts To Historic Simba Moment

Simba SC head coach Fadlu Davids has dedicated their historic CAF Confederation Cup quarter-final win over Al Masry to their fans as they firmly shift focus towards the last two hurdles.

The Reds of Msimbazi overturned a first leg 2-0 defeat against the Egyptian side to make it 2-2 on aggregate after two goals in the first half from Elie Mpanzu and Steven Mukwala, before beating them 4-1 on penalties.

The South African tactician became the first coach to lead Simba into the semis of a CAF inter-club competition having previously only making it into the quarterfinals.

“This victory is for the fans, they have come in spite of the weather, ” he told the club’s media.

“If it’s not good they have been with us all the time, we are happy that we have won.

“We should not be too happy; our minds are now moving towards the semi-finals and God-willing they will reach the final.”

Fadlu and his charges will head to South Africa for the first semifinal leg against Stellenbosch FC who stunned defending champions Zamalek in Egypt with a solitary Sihle Nduli goal.
