With their African odyssey now a reality, Stellenbosch FC are said to have increased their interest in Polokwane City right-back Thabang Matuludi.
Matuludi had an outstanding debut season in the DStv Premiership, playing 32 games in all competitions, scoring two goals and providing a single assist.
The 25-year-old was in phenomenal form for Rise and Shine, lauded for his work rate and defensive prowess, which has seen several clubs in the top-flight monitoring his situation.

He also aided the Limpopo-based side to a top-eight finish for the first time in five seasons, which means they will play the MTN8 quarter-final against Mamelodi Sundowns.
iDiski Times understands that Stellenbosch has increased their interest in the right-back who is capable of featuring in midfield and further upfield.
Rise and Shine, though, will only look to sell Matuludi if they can find a replacement, and options include free agents Shaun Mogaila, Keenan Phillips, and Katlego Maphathe, whose contract at Cape Town Spurs is set to expire.
The Cape Winelands side is looking to bolster their squad for the CAF Confederation Cup next season and have already secured Sanele Barns from Richards Bay.
