Kaizer Chiefs legend Itumeleng Khune says Rushwin Dortley must take heed of Veli Mothwa and make the most of his opportunities in Bafana Bafana.
Khune referred to the recent Mothwa howlers against Uganda that has seen him lose his place in Bafana Bafana, after also falling down the pecking order at club level with AmaZulu.
This after Dortley had a couple of shaky moments, which went unpunished against the Cranes where South Africa picked up a 2-0 win in Kampala to move top of Group K.

“He needs to work on his confidence… but Dortley you can’t write him off now, he know he is dealing with on the bench, Siya Ngezana is waiting, Sibisi, Kekana,” Khune said.
“We don’t want a repeat of what happened to our number two Veli Mothwa, where you are given an opportunity and it’s like you were not ready for it, you always need to be ready.
“When you’re called upon to do the job for the nation, you must be ready. And I don’t want the same situation repeating with Mothwa with Dortley.”
South Africa will arrive in Cape Town after 13h00 ahead of their final 2025 AFCON qualifier at the DHL Stadium where they host South Sudan.
